Sully, a shaggy black and white pooch, came to us recently, filthy and dehydrated. He’d been found roaming near Interstate 75 by a group of volunteers.
It turns out, Sully was no run-of-the-mill missing pet. As a therapy dog to Liam Holland, a seven-year-old Wesley Chapel boy with a brain tumor, he had a very important job to do. For the past three years, Sully has served as Liam’s therapy dog, providing Liam with constant support and companionship.
Sully had slipped away after a trip to the groomer. Our Seven Oaks Pet Hospital team treated him with IV fluids and gave him a good, thorough bath, after which Sully and Liam had an ecstatic reunion.
This is our favorite kind of story to tell – one in which two best friends are brought together again. We wish Liam and Sully many happy years together!
