Seven Oaks Pet Hospitals offers digital radiology (or x-rays), which allow our veterinarians to view inside the body, which includes bones, heart, lungs, and abdominal organs. Our radiology service is a critical part to our high-quality medicine and diagnostic testing, and is painless, safe, and completely non-invasive. The procedure requires your pet to lay still for short periods of time and images are taken using very low doses of radiation. The dose of radiation is so low that even pregnant females and very young pets can have radiographs taken.
Radiography is extremely helpful to view the size, shape, and position of organs that may be influenced by a certain medical condition, including intestinal blockage or cancer. Tumors, bladder stones, broken bones, chronic arthritis, certain spinal cord injuries, and a variety of other conditions are also viewable by radiography.
Call the veterinarians and staff at 813-929-4100 to discuss if radiographs can be used to help in the diagnosis, treatment, or rehabilitation of your pet.
